Bude seawater swimming pool
We are nearby to some incredible beaches. Bude (with its free seawater swimming pool) and Westward Ho! are our nearest but you dont have to travel much further to reach Saunton Sands, Croyde & Woolacombe.
If you are happy to travel a little further you can have access to beaches on the South Coast such as Dawlish, Salcombe, and even the beaches of Newquay, Rock, Porthleven, Hayle & St Ives further into Cornwall are an easy day trip.
WALKING & CYCLING
Dartmoor lakes
Lydford waterfall
We are situated near to Dartmoor with its beautiful tors, streams & wildlife including the famous free roaming dartmoor ponies. A trip to Lydford Gorge and Waterfall is not to be missed.
The Ruby Way is a local walking route on our doorstep. For cyclists the traffic free Tarka Trail is a great way to see some of the local countryside & coastline. You may bring your own bikes or hire them on the trail.

Wet Days
Eden Project
Rainy Weather does not have to distrupt your days. Nearby is the Dartington Crystal Factory, Truggudick Distillery, Okehampton Cinema with comfy leather chairs. Further afield is the Eden Project or you can hop on the recently opened Dartmoor Line Railway at Okehampton for a day out in Exeter.
TOWNS VILLAGES & THINGS OF INTEREST
Tintagel, King Arthur's Castle
The market towns of Hatherleigh, Okehampton, Great Torrington & Tavistock are within easy reach along with Instow & Appledore which are both on the coast. Venture a little further along the North Coast to Lynton & Lynmouth which are connected by one of the worlds oldest, steepest, waterpowered railways, or visit Clovelly with its traffic free cobbled streets which you can ride a donkey down or up. Just across the border into Cornwall is King Arthurs Castle at Tintagel and Port Issac home to Doc Martin & Fishermans Friends.
There are also a number of local vineyards to visit along with various distilleries which provide tours and sampling of their products.
